Trouble on the Horizon?

Ohio University men’s head basketball coach John Groce let slip an interesting response after the Bobcats’ 67-62 loss to Akron on Wednesday that might reveal some turmoil may still be lingering from the beginning of the season:

When asked about Ivo Baltic starting the game, but only finishing the game with 6 minutes played, Groce said,”It’s a team matter. I won’t say anything other than that. I won’t address it other than that. It was a violation of team rules that caused Ivo to maybe start over some of the other guys”

It was an odd quip that not many in the press conference expected. Devaughn Washington, who has started at Baltic’s spot most of the season, was suspended earlier in the season for “violating team rules”. Could this mean a slip up from Washington again? Probably not. Washington ended up playing 37 minutes last game, so most likely the benching was a simple slap on the wrist for a small violation. Most people expect Washington to start Saturday at Miami.
